MOTHER’S DAY 2018

Happy Mothers Day from our family to yours!

A Brief History of Mother's Day
"Life began with waking up and loving my mother's face." - George Eliot

Motherhood is a never ending job and all throughout history countless women have risen to the occasion to raise generations of people to become great leaders, artists, activists, and more. To honor our matriarchs, celebrations of mothers can be traced back as far as the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals to honor mother goddesses... but the clearest modern precedent for Mother's Day is the early Christian festival known as "Mothering Sunday."(https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/mothers-day)

The idea to have a day set apart to honor all mothers and have it be a national day was truly campaigned for in America by Anna M. Jarvis(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Jarvis) in the early 1900's shortly after her mother died. On May 10, 1908, a Mother's Day service was held at a church in Grafton, West Virginia, where Anna's mother had taught. Thus was born the idea that the second Sunday in May be set aside to honor all mothers, dead or alive. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill designating the second Sunday in May as a legal holiday to be called "Mother's Day"--dedicated "to the best mother in the world, your mother." (https://www.almanac.com/content/history-mothers-day)

Moms in action!
Here at INFINITI of Thousand Oaks, we're so thankful for all the hardworking mothers who not only excel here but also as moms. Here are some moms of the dealership and why they're so important to our family here!
Kim Ennis - Controller, Accounting & Business Departments.
Always making sure the books are balanced, checks are cut, and the bills are paid! Kim ensures every dollar paid by customers for services is properly and effectively spent in the best way to be able to continue doing business. Also over-seeing other members of the accounting department, Kim is an essential part of making sure business runs smoothly behind the scenes. Kim is not letting the years pass her by, as she has been here for over a decade, and she maintains the same high level of commitment to her job and is still full of energy! A mother, a grandmother, and on top of all our accounting!
Brandy Ennis - Customer Relations Manager.
Daughter to Kim, Brandy is another hard working mom here at the dealership. As Customer Relations Manager, it's her job to ensure that all new customers are happy and she is here to answer any questions customers may have about their new purchase/lease. Brandy can even schedule a Reconnect Appointment, where a product specialist can meet with you to further answer any questions you may have. When she isn't reaching out to our new INFINITI drivers, you'll find her helping out as a receptionist or accounting associate. Brandy is truly a major part of our operations in assisting our customers and making sure they are happy!
Michele Bohnsack - Business Office Associate.
Working behind the scenes in our Business Office, Michele takes pride in making sure all our sales have the appropriate paperwork to ensure that everything goes smoothly in the vehicle purchase process. Her job involves LOTS OF CRITICAL PAPERWORK- for everyone from the DMV, and other state agencies, to INFINITI headquarters. As if paper cuts weren't a big enough concern, if these forms are submitted with errors, it could mean a catastrophic series of unraveling events that would bring business to a crawl. She is fundamental part of our team!
Tiffany McCombs - Receptionist.
A mom who just recently returned from having another addition to her family, Tiffany's quick wit and great humor, make working here really enjoyable. Always one to brighten the day of others, Tiffany started buying candy for the employees to enjoy, just out of the kindness of her heart. Such a small, yet thoughtful gesture from one of our hardest working team members!
Nicole House - Service & Parts Director.
Being in a position of power with the responsibility to ensure the profitability of two departments and over 25 employees is not easy. There are many moving parts that a Service & Parts Director has to keep track of from Service Writers to Vehicle Transporters and it's a marvel that Nicole can do it so well. Nicole is not your regular "Grandma"; as she just participated in a Triathlon earlier this year! Unfortunately Nicole injured her foot, however even that's no excuse for her! Nicole always makes sure things get handled, and handled right. Even injured, she is still meeting her responsibility of making sure all her employees stay motivated in their jobs, and that all customers are happy with the services being completed!

On behalf of all children out there, THANK YOU to all the hard working mothers who are doing what needs to be done without fail! We want to celebrate you this Mother's Day, so in honor of all the great moms out there, we are having a Mother's Day Sale!
